Col Benjamin Alvin DrewOn January 19th 2015, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, we held a very special naming ceremony for our space camp in honor of Colonel Alvin Drew at the University of New Mexico. We’d like to thank all of our distinguished guests and sponsors for attending, and The University of New Mexico for allowing us to have our ceremony on their campus.

We, The General Lloyd W. “Fig” Newton Chapter of Tuskegee Airmen, Incorporated, honor the legacy of the original Tuskegee Airmen and build upon the lessons of their success. Too many of today’s youth face challenges in building their futures for lack of resources, for lack of confidence, and for lack of knowing what is truly possible. Most importantly, they often lack inspiration to reach for the stars. This experience is designed to show students what is possible, and that they can accomplish any goal with determination, education, and self-confidence.
